Golf enthusiasts from across Europe continue to make the Algarve one of the world’s most loved golf destinations and most of us have played at least one of the Vilamoura courses, like The Old Course, Pinhal, Laguna, Millennium or Victoria Course. In 2016, the Vilamoura courses were acquired by the Dom Pedro Group, which launched the Dom Pedro Golf division earlier this month. Oceânico however still operates its courses at the Amendoeira Golf Resort in Alcantarilha Silves.
Following a transitional period, during which there may have been some confusion about the renaming of the Vilamoura courses to reflect the new ownership group, the launch of Dom Pedro Golf signals the arrival of a new website where all of its courses can be found and booked: DomPedroGolf.
Dom Pedro Golf now operates five Vilamoura courses
For Leadingcourses.com it is very important that we acknowledge the launch of Dom Pedro Golf in order to direct golfers to the correct website and that we send their tee-time requests to the right person or booking desk. As one of the first in the market, we have updated the names of all of Dom Pedro’s Vilamoura courses and have also added Dom Pedro Golf to avoid mistakes. Below the list of the new names (and their former name):
- Victoria Golf Course – Dom Pedro Golf (formerly known as: Clube Golf Oceânico Victoria Course)
- Pinhal Golf Course – Dom Pedro Golf (Clube Golf Oceânico Pinhal Golf)
- Millennium Golf Course – Dom Pedro Golf (Clube Golf Oceânico Millennium)
- Laguna Golf Course – Dom Pedro Golf (Clube Golf Oceânico Laguna Golf)
- The Old Course Golf Club – Dom Pedro Golf (Clube Golf Oceânico Old Course)
If you would still search for Oceânico on our site, you will still find the former Oceânico courses as we also search on the ‘formerly know as’ names of clubs. So, a search for ‘Oceânico‘ will still lead you to both Oceânico courses and the Dom Pedro courses. But, now that you’ve read this article and when you are looking for some nice courses in the Villamoura area, from now on it’s better to start your search with ‘Dom Pedro‘ 😉
