Mallorca, one of the Spanish Balearic Islands, is a true destination for golf. The island boasts some of the best golf courses in Spain and even without the golf courses the island is a must-see. With a year-round minimum temperature of 15ºC, cheap flights in spring, plenty of golf courses and lots of cultural attractions Mallorca is a good destination for a spring getaway.

Most of the golf courses on the island can be found around Palma, the capital of Mallorca. The city has a lot of touristic attractions, like the Cathedral area, The Bellver Castle, the Old city and the Arab Baths. Another tip is the ancient Pollensa Town, famous for its Roman Bridge and the 365 steps high stairs; Puig de Calvari.

For this list we choose to focus on the courses where you can book your tee time directly online on Leadingcourses.com. Top-5 Mallorca golf courses:

1Golf Son Gual (8.7)

Laid out across beautiful Mallorcan terrain, just east of the capital Palma, Golf Son Gual is the realisation of one man’s dream. Adam Pamer has been visiting the island since 1974 and purchased a holiday home there in 1994. Frustrated with the poor condition and service he experienced at many of the island’s courses, he set out to build his own dream golf club. Designed by Thomas Himmel, who has worked wonders and delivered an exquisite golfing experience that blends seamlessly into the local landscape of Majorca.

Golf Son Gual is fast establishing itself as one of Europe’s best golf courses.
Laid out across beautiful undulating terrain, just outside Palma, Son Gual has been compared to Augusta National, by former Masters’ champion Ian Woosnam.
The stunning 18-hole, 7,241-yard course includes one of the finest collections of par threes to be found anywhere and an outstanding closing hole.

Golf de Andratx is an 18-hole course recognised for its originality, with several extremely raised tees which offer unbeatable views of the Mallorcan coastline. In terms of difficulty it is a very challenging course for more experienced players.

With five blind shots and running over very uneven terrain, with large holes protected by lakes and with the typical flora and fauna of the region.
Built between steep valleys and protected by mountains with the classic pinewoods and stark scenery of a Mediterranean archipelago.
The designer and architect of the course, David Kidd, has managed to optimise the playing terrain.

The 609-meter “Green Monster” (No. 6, par 5), is the longest hole in Spain and is regarded as an absolute highlight for the ambitious golfer. The hole plays uphill and each shot has to avoid bunkers and water hazards.
