RiSiBi review of Assoufid Golf Club

Just back from an extended golf weekend in Marrakech. It turned out that the trip was a very good idea. In every respect value for money, very good golf courses, inexpensive hotels in the low season and the exotic, lively metropolis in addition for a cultural program and an evening program. Even though the weather was quite far away from the optimum of the season and the wind from the nearby Atlas was quite icy, we (handicaps 9 and 14) enjoyed it very much. We played Assoufid, Palmgolf Ourika, Samanah and Noria. All very good, Assoufid did not land at the very top of my personal ranking, but close by. From the overall impression it is exceptional. The course is wonderful, also very varied and challenging holes in a top condition (beginning of February with night frost) on a slightly hilly terrain. Arguably the most picturesque course around Marrakech. Good range. Very friendly staff. We were a little less fortunate with a lot of pairings on the second 9, I guess some of them started at hole 10, beacuse the course had nearly all day been closed due to a professional tournament in the morning. If we could still play very fast on the first 9, we had to wait for the second 9 so long that after the 16th hole we lost our lust and stopped prematurely, especially since the evening slowly became very frosty. Nevertheless, it's a really enjoyable golfing experience, play the course when you're in the area.
