Katathong is an hour drive north of Phuket Island just past the scenic town of Phang-Nga. The Golf course is get among rolling hills in a valley that was once a tin mine - a spectacular location for a Golf course. The layout is weird and wonderful in equal measure. Clearly not designed by someone who has a great deal of experience in Golf course design, however, that doesn’t mean that there are not great holes. The back nine in particular features a couple of holes where a score card can be well and truly ruined. Particularly holes 10,17 and 18. The greens were in excellent condition the day I played which made for a thoroughly enjoyable day out. It’s well worth making the drive up to Katathong if you have already played all the courses in Phuket. Add Rajjaprabha Dam Golf Course into the equation and you’ll have a couple of magical days of Golf.
