About The Celtic Manor Resort

The speed with which Celtic Manor has impressed itself on the world golfing scene is little short of miraculous. Less than seven years after it was founded in 1995, it was selected as the host course for The 2010 Ryder Cup. Already one of the leading golf complexes in Europe, Celtic Manor opened the new Twenty Ten Course in 2007 - the first course in history to be purpose-built for staging The Ryder Cup. The Resort boasts three championship courses in all and a floodlit golf academy plus a 400 bed Five Star hotel and health spa and 10 luxurious Hunter Lodges, ideal for group golf breaks.

The spectacular Twenty Ten features water hazards on half of its holes and many more risk and reward dilemmas designed to create thrilling team matchplay during The 2010 Ryder Cup. Home of the Celtic Manor Wales Open until 2014, the Twenty Ten is a spectacular and exhilarating test for all standards of golfer.

Vorige week 4 dagen op het Celtic Manor resort doorgebracht en alle drie de golfbanen gespeeld. We hadden een beetje pech met het weer en dan eigenlijk vooral met het weer er voor. mixed feelings about a course that is quite frustrating to play and depends on the conditions you find. In general whenever I have played it - wet and cold spring to mind. This day was no different. The damp air in the valley does not help ball carry distances and too many of the holes were not really reachable in 2 unless you are hitting 240 off the tee - which into wind…

Vandaag de Twenty-Ten experience gedaan en het was heel bijzonder. Bij aankomst werden onze tassen aangenomen en werden we welkom geheten en rondgeleid door het clubhuis. Door het verkeer waren we helaas wel laat aangekomen maar het opschuiven van de teetime was geen enkel probleem en zo mochten we een uur eerder starten zodat we de ervaringen goed in ons konden opnemen…
