Europa

Based on the density of above-average golf clubs in a certain country (or region), our rating per country suggests that the following countries are well worth a visit when planning your next golfbreak or golf holiday: United Kingdom (incl. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland), Ireland, The Netherlands and Belgium. Most golfers however still flock to popular and sunny golf destinations like Portugal (Algarve), Spain and Turkey.

Europe

Golf as a sport first took off along the sandy shorelines of Great Britain, particularly along the east coast of Scotland. Since then - due to a rising middle class and better transporation means - golf has spread throughout Europe.

Norway

Norway has quite a substantial number of golf courses, certainly in relation to the size of its population. Golf is popular in Norway and the number of golf courses is growing at a steady rate. Most golf courses are found in and around Oslo and near other larger cities such as Bergen, Stavanger and Trondheim. If there is sufficient space on the golf courses, green fee players will be accepted without any problem.

Asker Golfklubb 1

Fantastisk vedlikeholdt, hull 18 og klubbhuset er fantastisk. Kiosk på hull 8. <br />Litt lange avstander mellom hull og kort avstand mellom fairwayer, god trim, synd range/hull 1 er langt fra klubbhus.

Short par 70 on a pretty tight piece of property. The course design isn't particularly noteworthy, but is still pleasant and challenging due to very tight fairways and some heavily undulated greens. Tee boxes and fairways were in sub-par condition, probably largely due to heavy rain over the last weeks. The greens on the other hand, were excellent! The short par 3 18th is Asker's signature hole, with a nice lake in front of a wide but shallow green, overlooked by the clubhouse. One big negative was the driving range mats, which were really bad and should have been upgraded a long time ago!
