About The Royal St George's Golf Club

The club has a distinguished golfing history and is proud to have hosted amateur and professional tournaments since the 1880's. The club is one of England's finest links courses, and has played host to The Open Championship fourteen times. The Club occupies a unique place in the history of golf, for it was here in 1894, that the Open Championship was first played outside Scotland. Visitors are greeted with a warm, friendly welcome in the historic clubhouse. The undulating fairways and fast, true greens will prove a test to all amateur and professional golfers alike. Tee times can be requested online by following the book a tee time link and by contacting the office directly.

Royal St George's is situated on the same stretch of coastline as Royal Cinque Ports Club and neighbouring Prince's Golf Club, both former Open Championship venues. Pro: -A lot of history. -Ian Fleming (James Bond) was a member here. He almost became the captain of the club. You could say that he died on this golf course. He had a heart attack on the 14th green and died later in…

The course will host The Open in 2020 for the 15th time and was the first club outside of Scotland to be the host in 1894. The red logo of the club is exclusively to be worn by members of the club, rarely members resign from the club and when their end is near …
