Colony Club Gutenhof (or Himberg as the locals call it) is one of Austria's most prestigious clubs and Austria's first 36 holes golf club. It was designed by Kurt Rossknecht and Hans Erhardt and opened for play in 1989. There are no tee times in Covid times. When I called the club, the secretary just said that I should be at the club at 8 am and sign-in on the tee sheet…

I played both courses. For the time of the year, maintenance was great. Both courses have a good variation of holes. East course is a bit more demanding and narrower. Greens were excellent and fast. Restaurant was ok, but a bit unfriendly. Shop and reception... top. Enjoyed the days.

Na een laatste kleine slingerweg met een paar drempels kom je op een ruime parkeerplaats die eind van de dag ook vol is. Je denkt meteen het clubhuis te zien maar dat is het badhuis met buiten zwembad, gelegen naast de ook nog aanwezige tennisbanen.
