SlicingMyWayThroughLife review

Cleydael Golf & Country Club is one of Antwerp's 14 golf clubs and it is located just 9 kilometers from the city centre. Upon arrival you will be amazed by the beautiful Cleydael Castle which dates back all the way to the 13th century. Cleydael Golf & Country Club is a very good parkland course which also hosted two Europen Challenge Tour events, the KPMG Trophy in 2014 and 2016. The layout is very interesting and diverse but there are a few tricky holes so for those playing here for the first time... on 5th and 7th hole favor the right side of the fairway to have a decent shot to the green,15th is a nice hole but I really don't understand the OB on the left side of the hole between the 13th hole... AGAIN: OB is out of bounds and bounds are the borders where golf course property ends and it has no place between two fairways! And placing the OB there will not prevent me or anyone else missing where OB is, I bet most players will miss there even more often! I am quite sure those OB line was not there for the KLM Open and I am quite sure those guys know how to control their ball flights a bit better then an average Joe playing here on daily bases. I liked the par-4 dogleg right 2nd, short par-4 4th is another dogleg right but you can also go straight for the green,7th and 8th are also nice par-4's, par-5 12th hole and short par-4 13th hole. Quite nice and challenging finishing last 3 holes with long par-3 Narrow and challenging par-4 18th hole playing towards the castle is great finishing hole. The course was in very good playing condition, nice fairways and greens were also good. Pro-shop is okay. Clubhouse is very nice with lovely decorated restaurant and great bar with beautiful back terrace overlooking the castle, so local beer and delicious snacks were more than deserved.
