De 9 holes "Compact Course" is een korte baan van 1146 meter. Een ideale baan voor de startende golfers maar ook voor de betere spelers om hun kort spel te verbeteren.

President's Nine - Damme

Probably a question of expectations, but after all the good reviews of the P9 we decided to play it last week-end (we had played the Championship Course before). Was a bit let down by the P9. Maintenance is correct but the P9 course itself is not one of Bruno Steensel's masterpieces, being neither beautiful nor impressive. Strange layout also, with a lot of walking distance between holes 1&2 and 7&8, and very poor signalisation. We played Damme P9, Koksijde, Wimereux and Mormal on the same road-trip and Damme P9 was the lesser of the four courses in our impression.

Met zonnig en droog weer (en goede vrienden) de 18 holes 2x gespeeld in 2 dagen. Warm welkom in de grote golfshop waar je ook de gereserveerde greenfees mag afrekenen. (Er stond € 75,- op onze mailreservering, maar we moesten toch € 80,- betalen, ondanks dat de green van hole 9 volledig gerenoveerd werd, dus enkel wintergreen op 9) Dan eerst maar koffietje in het restaurant, na 2 uur rijden. Volwassen keurige bediening! Heerlijke broodjes Smos mee als lunch de baan in. Drivingrange gratis ballen, afslaan van dikke mat óf grasmat (altijd fijn). De holes en routings zijn goed aangegeven voor gasten. Vooraf waren we bang voor "te veel water" in de baan. Maar ondanks die aanwezigheid, de fairways zijn bijna allemaal uitzonderlijk breed aangelegd. T-boxen prima, fairways op dag 1, ietske te lang. maar inderdaad de 2e dag waren ze net gemaaid. De greens waren erg hobbelig, mogen wat aandacht. Bij terugkomst in het clubhuis, uitstekend ontvangen met Brugse Zotte en een goede plank lekker eten. Graag tot een volgende keer.

Na verschillende keren in deze leuke club, nu voor het eerst de President's nine gespeeld. Dit is een zeer aangename 9 holes baan die door de vele doglegs en andere kniks in combinatie met goed gepositioneerde bunkers en waterpartijen best uitdagend is. Ook de vaak smalle fairways maken het niet makkelijk voor een hogere handicap'er om goed te scoren. De baan lag er degelijk onderhouden bij en de greens waren snel en goed bespeelbaar, ook al waren ze recent nog geprikt. Afstandsindicaties op de infoborden zouden de ervaring nog kunnen verbeteren. Zoals gewoonlijk waren de oefenfaciliteiten zeer goed, en met gratis ballen op de driving range. Zeer vriendelijk ontvangen in het clubhuis.
