Golf for all, this was the philosophy behind Ieper Golf Club’s foundation in 1990, and since then, things have not changed. Testimony to that is the fact that the course (a 9 hole set up next to an unintrusive industrial site) is already accessible to players with a 45 handicap. Its aim was also to offer a cheaper alternative to private golf clubs (more expensive). The course designed by Joan Dudok Van Heel is certainly not the longest but the fun aspect of it is both interesting and educational. Fairways are wide enough for players to open their shoulders and the existing hazards should not worry wayward hitters too much. All in all, Ieper is a good course on which to learn the basic skills indispensable to the game of golf.
