Playing on what can only be described as a cold windy day with sunshine, the experience was in general a good one. The course design, green to tee was easy to navigate, holes themselves had a good variety from elevated tees to splodge bunkers of irregular but interesting shapes. Hole four was a nearly island green, which added more interest. But overall the course needed some TLC. The bunkers we lacking in sand and were difficult to play from as they were quite hard, the edges of the bunkers were not clipped back and experiencing a half in half out bunker shot which came to rest on a weed didn't help either. The marker stones were dirty and in some places needed repairs, but all were readable. Edge of the fairways was of an irregular height, which made it difficult to gauge club selection consistently in the semi rough. In the main, the tee boxes and greens were in good condition. There were some lovely holes, the 10th, with your back to the clubhouse being just one of them. A clear strategy was often needed off the tee, and driver wasn't always the go to club. Some split fairways and tiered interesting greens did make the game enjoyable. Hole 18 had effectively two fairway aiming points, with water in between - so a good thinking hole. Hole 14 also had a split fairway, one low, one high, so again navigation was key to score on the hole too. The clubhouse was lovely with a big terrace overlooking the course, the food was also very good with a good comprehensive menu to chose from. Reality is, the time of the year didn't help the condition of the course, coming out of a harsh winter (for Mallorca) has meant things have not recovered as quickly as they would have normally at this time. It was good to see the vines lining the fairways in places, it reminded you that you were somewhere warm. I do think the course, although not showing its best at the moment, will easily recovery with some care and attention. Its all there.
