The hospitality is the thing I would call out first here. The welcome at reception was heartwarming. You receive a goody bag and a personalized bag tag. Never seen it before, absolutely loved it. Afterwards everyone is very helpful to get you going on your round. The round starts of with a steep uphill tee shot. The altitude difference on course will be a ever present c…

Played Dromoland today for the first time. Top class resort with an amazing castle as background for several holes. Clubhouse staff, starter on the first tee and the pro shop were all very welcoming. The fresh scones before the round were a real treat. The course itself is a great design with 3 driveable par 4.07th (par 3) is probably the most scenic par 3 I had ever …

Having not played Dromoland before but having seen photos I was expecting it to be nice, however it’s so much better than I expected! Two small details that tipped me off that the course would be well maintained before I walked it was new high end buggy’s and perfect tarmac cart paths. The clubhouse, bar, locker room and proshop all look like they have recently modernised…

Really quirky but enjoyable course. Very few driver and wedge holes you need to be accurate off the tee and think your way around. 7th a great and picturesque par 3 down the hill15th is a super par 4 very different. C Brilliant closing run then from 16 - 18 has the ability to wreck your scorecard. Great course.

Dromoland Golf Club. In my opinion a course with so much potential but just not hitting the mark. The main reason is with a green fee of €80 comes a high expectation level. Considering the high level of competitors not only in Ireland but also locally (Lahinch is 30minutes away) standards were high once I parted with that level of cash! Practice facilities are there but r…

Greens bumpy and bare. Not maintained in consistently good condition. Bunkers poor (tend to wash out fairly easily after heavy rain) sand bunkers especially the fairway bunkers full of stones & very little sand. Pathways very dug up and generally in very bad order. Fairways in excellent condition same with tee boxes. Pity the greens, bunkers and cart paths aren't kept up …

Very nice parkland golf course round the Dromoland Castle. Developed in 1962 and that is why there are nice big trees and a lush landscape.
