I played the East course (Östra), as it was supposed to be the best course. The driving range is excellent, although unfortunetaly the practice on grass was not open. I didn't find a chipping green, although I'm sure they have it somewhere. There's a putting green next to the first tee of the Östra course, and it was just in poor condition. First thing noticable about Kristianstad Östra is the very high standard of maintenance. I played all the best courses in Sweden and this is ranked in the top 5 easily. The greenfee of 850 SEK I payed here is not cheap in Swedish standards, but if you play a course of this quality it's all worth it. I also enjoyed the layout a lot with some excellent bunkering and high rough punishing wayward shots. Water comes into play at 3 holes,14,15 and 16.15 is a brilliant short par 4 with a stream across the fairway, having you to make a decision on the tee shot. We took a buggy which look good at first sight with GPS included, however it seems to be calibrated wrongly. Even when we were on the path it mentioned we were outside the allowed zone and obliged us to go backwards. The bar is dissapointing. We hade a club sandwich and it was very average and with a lot of french fries, which I don't need when I order this. Furthermore the bar closes in summertime at 18h00! I can't understand that. Local touring pro Sarah Nilsson told me Kristianstad Östra is now one of the best in Sweden. Based on the excellent condition of the course and the nice layout, I would certainly rate this top 10 in Sweden and well worth visiting.
