About Utrechtse Golfclub Amelisweerd
Amelisweerd: dé 18 holes baan van Utrecht!
The Gerard Jol-designed Golf Course Amelisweerd is located just outside the city of Utrecht, next to nature reserve Amelisweerd. The design and all the natural elements such as the many trees, three large water features and strategically placed bunkers create a very challenging golf course, for both the novice and advanced player.
With over 1000 members, Utrecht Golf Club Amelisweerd is a relatively young and vibrant club. Under the wings of the city of Utrecht, a short distance from Kampong and FC Utrecht and adjacent to the nature reserve Amelisweerd. Most of the members are from Utrecht, but also players the surrounding villages and towns like Houten, Zeist, Bunnik have bonded with this club. The club has a pleasant atmosphere, where everyone feels welcome.

Amelisweerd is een zeer actieve verenigingsbaan met ongeveer 800 full members, 80 par 3 leden, 70 junior leden, en meer dan 70 jeugdleden. Er is jaarlijks een goed gevulde verenigingskalender met wedstrijden en evenementen. Ook de golfschool organiseert voor de leden een aantal leuke activiteiten door het jaar heen.
Op dit moment heeft onze vereniging bijna het maximale aantal leden bereikt, dat wij met onze baancapaciteit kunnen accommoderen. Voor het Full Member lidmaatschap, het Jong Volwassenen lidmaatschap en het Junior Lidmaatschap geldt al een wachtlijst.

Golfbaan Amelisweerd
De afgelopen jaren is er hard gewerkt aan de baan, zowel qua design als onderhoud. Hoewel er nog hier en daar wat plekken zijn die in onderhoud zijn, begint het er nu echt goed uit te zien.
Vooral het onderhoud is echt met sprongen vooruit gegaan. De greens zijn snel en rollen goed. Daarnaast liggen de fairways lekker in het gras. Ook hebben de aanpassingen aan de bunke…

Gisteravond met een vriend na werk de 1e negen gespeeld en er waren een paar zaken die me echt opvielen. Ten eerste de schimmels in de greens, ik weet dat het veel met het weer te maken heeft maar het putten op sommige greens was echt lastig. Wat mij ook opviel was dat de bunkers er echt heel slecht bij lagen het leek wel alsof ze dagen niet door de greenkeepers waren net…

Golfbaan Amelisweerd
De aankomst bij de golfbaan is al geweldig, nadat je door de poort ben gereden zie je het mooie oude clubhuis met rietendak al voor je. Bij binnenkomst vriendelijke ontvangen en uitleg gekregen. Een prima kleine shop is ook aanwezig. De faciliteiten zijn goed, moderne kleedkamers, goede douches en het restaurant is prima betaalbaar, kleine kaart maar wel goed eten.
