About Murcar Links Golf Club
Archie Simpson laid out the first course at Murcar in 1909 in spectacular links land in the north east of Scotland north of Aberdeen. Master architect James Braid is known to have made alterations to the original layout in the early 1930s.
Murcar Links Golf Club is located on a classic stretch of links land with massive sand dunes, undulating fairways, and is covered in whins and heather with some magnificent views across the North Sea.
Playing Murcar Links is a truly memorable, rewarding experience where each hole offers its own challenge.
Murcar hosted the Paul Lawrie Match Play in 2015 and will host the Amateur Championship qualifier in 2018.
Anyone who plays this magnificent links cannot fail to be impressed by and take wonderful enjoyment from it.

Wat een verschrikkelijke moeilijke prachtige baan!
Ik was alleen maar om mijn heen aan het kijken (ipv golfen)
Greens waren behoorlijk snel snel sneller en vele blinde holes wat het moeilijk maakt! En ik zou dus achteraf andere keuzes gemaakt hebben om de hole te spelen
Ik had de baan eigenlijk nog wel een paar keer willen spelen
Hele leuke baan en als je in de buurt ben…

Een typische Schotse linkscourse de eerste negen niet heel makkelijk en veel verrassingen en blinde holes vanaf de tee.
Dus deze moet je echt vaker gespeeld hebben om een goede score te noteren. De oefenfaciliteiten zijn boven gemiddeld en zelfs een drivingrange is aanwezig met enkele overdekte teeboxen. Het ontvangst was zeer gastvrij en vriendelijk met duidelijke uitle…

1e van drie banen plus bezoek aan The Open. Gewend aan de thuisbaan (de Purmer) geeft het spelen op deze baan wel een cultuurschok. Links in de ultimo vorm. Mooie ervaring hier te spelen. Greens natuurlijk razend snel en onvoorspelbaar voor een polderspeler dus wel wat 3 puts. Moeilijke baan die wel wat van je vergt, baanboekjes uitverkocht. Veel holes dus op de gok spele…
