About Nairn Golf Club

There was time when the spectacular links of the Nairn Golf Club kept its light rather hidden beneath the bushel but the Amateur Championship of 1994 and the famous GB & I victory over the United States in the Walker Cup in 1999 changed all that. This is one of the classic links courses of Scotland, an amalgamation of the work of Andrew Simpson, Old Tom Morris, Ben Sayers and inevitably James Braid. Today's layout, with the exception of a little discreet refinement by C.K. Cotton, is largely the work of Braid and spectacular it is in every regard. Great stands of gorse, wonderful crisp fairway turf and greens that are widely hailed as the best in Scottish golf are the legacy that Braid left in this beautiful corner of Morayshire.

Nairn - Championship Course 1/2
Holes: 18
What delights the visitor and member alike is the Scottish-ness of the links. Other than in a strong westerly, it leads you in gently before demanding accurate driving and precision second shots. Gorse is a hazard. The par 4 holes tease and confound and all four short holes are cunningly angled, with the 4th a little gem and the 14th simply spectac

Nairn - The Cameron Course 2/2
Holes: 9
The 9 hole Cameron Course, though less challenging than the Championship Course, provides a fun round for the family or for those with less time on their hands! The practice area is ideal for warming up before a round or sharpening your short game.

Nairn - Championship Course

Nairn - Championship Course
Don’t think you’ll find a better example of links golf, than here at Nairn Golf Club. Most holes in the first nine hug the shore line. A big slice will see you end up on the beach, a bigger one might find the North Sea. As the beach isn’t actually OB, I was very tempted to see a ball end up there. Unfortunately I didn’t have enough control of the golf ball to determine an…

Nairn - Championship CourseNairn - The Cameron Course
Has always been known historically for it’s greens. Just completed Phase 1 of the renovation Holes: 1,7,14: new greens Number 1: moved the green into the sea (60 yards back and right). They spent over 900k pounds in renovation. It is interesting that most of the golf courses, due to erosion, need to move the holes into the land. Whereas Nairn, thanks to the rocks and…

Nairn - Championship Course
We mocht…

Nairn - Championship Course
Pro: -True links course with a lot of history. -The first 7 holes are right by the beach. A sliced ball will end up on the beach. It’s not O.B. so you can (try to) actually play it from the beach back to the fairway. -When you buy a greenfee you are a member for a day. So you can use all the facilities. -Nice practice facilities with a long driving range (Balls are ava…
