Miccosukee is a public golf course with probably the best value for money in the Miami area. For a $50 greenfee (cart included) you play a great course managed by the Indian Miccosukee tribe who have a reservation west of Miami. The driving range and clubhouse might look a little tacky but the course is great. It is less difficult then it looks, there is a lot of water but with the right course management you can set a good score. It's one of those courses where you always walk off smiling. The lay out is typical for South Florida with a lot of water, undulated fairways and greens, it's in the middle of a residential area close to Kendall just 15 miles from the airport. There are a couple of long par 5's, challenging par 4's and nice par 3's. There are 3 nine holes loops and according to the locals the best are the Dolphin and the Marlin. But the other 9 called Barracuda is also fine. The asfalt where the carts are parked could do with a new layer but the guys are very friendly. Our cart had a soft tire and they immediately exchanged it for a new one. The greens were firm and true, to get the ball close to the pin you really need to play target golf. Hit a long drive and then attack the green with a high approach to make it stick. So if you play in Miami do not miss this course, it's really a hidden gem.
