Pearl Vally is considered as one of the best golf courses in South Africa. This great Jack Nicklaus signature golf course / resort is located about 1 hour drive north-east of Cape Town city centre. Layout is flat but very good. Most notable holes for my taste are: great Par-5 4th which requires three good shots to get to the dance floor, followed by short Par-4 5th hole, my favourite hole here. 7th and 8th are long and very challenging Par-4 holes with water from tee to green, all the way down the right side and well protected greens... good luck. Hole 13 is nice signature Par-3 followed by great Par-5 14th hole with huge tree in the middle of the fairway. Left side is safer if you want to avoid the bunker on the right but if you want to go for the green in two you will need a draw your ball right of the tree in the middle to avoid the bunker on the right side of the fairway. Short Par-4 15th is another nice hole where long hitters will be tempted by reachable but well protected green. Typical resort style clubhouse is huge but nice, pro shop has great selection of goods. Very good practice area as well. A must play if you are in the Cape Town region.
