Oitavos Dunes Natural Links

The leading USA Golf Architect, Arthur Hills, who designed Oitavos Golfe, recognised the concept of Quinta da Marinha and stated: “Our goal is to create one of the finest golfing experiences in Europe, all within the elegant natural and historical framework inherent to Quinta da Marinha. Opportunities such as this are rare. We felt that with a site so rich in innate beauty, each hole must fit ideally in the setting, thus assuring a natural appearance with variety and charm.” The Bermuda grass fairways and tees are ribbons of green through a natural terrain of sand dunes, pine trees and a variety of bushes and plants. From season to season, the colours change, but the constant beauty of the Atlantic Ocean and the Sintra Mountains add to the feeling that the Course ‘was meant to be there.

Hole # 14. This demanding golf hole has two characters; benign in a southerly wind and ferocious in a northerly wind. At 153 metres from the back tee, long is better than short, even if you end up chipping back from the bank behind the 10th green. The green will test your putting skills.
