I was lucky enough to get an invite from a friend to go and play a couple of rounds and stay over night at the Lodge. As far as a guest experience it doesn’t get much better than this place. The locker room has a great atmosphere and the caddy master cannot do enough for you. The course itself is set along the shores of Loch Lomond and afford some glorious views. The opening 6 or 7 holes are knot tough but if you haven’t done your scoring on the front nine then you might really struggle to play to your handicap as the back half is a tough test. The course is manicured and hard a blade of grass is out of place. The only criticism being that the front nine has some drainage issues which means that if it rains then there can be standing water in the fairways. I’m not a paying member so I’m not going to complain too much about that. It’s a wonderful club with a really excellent Golf course. If you know someone who is a member, it might be worth you sending them a Christmas card this year...
