Le choix des golfeurs
Heures de golf
The backdrop of the castle behind the golfcourse is majestic. Nonetheless, the course is delighfully low key. The clubhouse feels like a reversed tardis: entering from the outside at this club you would expect a big entrance, but it is small and cozy, and very Bavarian. The lady at the reception was very welcoming, both on the telephone and in real life. The course is laid out on to sides of a valley with in between a country road and a number of ponds. You cross the roads a few times through tunnels, so the only hinder you have from the road is the noise of the cars, mainly at holes 4 and 5. The first nine holes require not much climbing, this changes from hole 10. In reward you get some very nice holes in the latter part of the course. The par 3-s are all near the clubhouse, but are evenly spread out through the round. The lay out is cleverly done this way, but you need to cross some distance between some holes. The course is not easy, some holes are quite narrow and there’s quite a few side hill fairways. The condition of the fairways was sketchy in parts and some greens were soaking wet.
