Has been a while since I've came back to Kampenhout. Though the course is rather close to my house I felt the clubhouse/service was lacking. Glad to see there has been a major improvement to that respect. The course itself was in incredible condition, seriously, the greens where impeccable & super-fast (not that that helped with my scoring ?), fairways in extremely good condition especially when you take the severe drought and then recently severe rainfall into account. Almost incredible. My home course is only 10 km further and they seem to have suffered much harder. The driving range has improved as well. In the past they used these rubber coated range balls, I really didn’t like that feel and performance. Now they are using callaway range balls, much, much better! The only point of criticism (but not really fixable) is the layout of the practise. I just find the driving – putting – chipping less convenient set apart.I.e. walking back and forth illogical. In any case this is not a deal breaker. I found the course quite challenging, if you hit the fairways and your distance is good, it allows for good scoring. Leave the driver a bit more in the bag if the tend to block or slice to the right. Fairways are rather wide, but you have the hit them and sat away from the right hand sides.
