Heures de golf
Royal Golf Club of Belgium or Ravenstein was one of my last visits this year to my favorite 10 to 12 courses in Belgium. It's a beautiful classic layout with an enormous variety of trees. I'm sure it's interesting to visit on different seasons. Even though trees might have grown over the years, it's generous of the tee. I finished the round with the same ball as I started. The condition of the course is very good. And that was noticable, there were a lot of greenkeepers at work during our round. This is obviously not a point of criticism, when you want a good course you need maintenance. The only thing that was not ok were the bunkers. Although I want to be mild about this, it probably rained a lot prior to our visit, and it's difficult to always keep up with this. Even though we started in the afternoon as a 2 ball with a golf cart, and with flights in front of us, we finished the round in a bit more than 3 hours. Excellent pace of play. The bar was a bit dissapointing. They have some snacks to eat like croque monsieur or scampi's, but they were definitely snacks and not a full meal. I took 2 dishes and still left hungry. Next time I'd go to the restaurant. Once in a while people ask me which clubs they should visit in Belgium or Brussels. Ravenstein is without a must visit when you want to see one of the best. I had a great day here and well recommend it.
