Boasting a unique position within the Vilamoura portfolio, it is often asserted that the creation of the Millennium Golf Course was pivotal in cementing the status of this region as one of Europe’s most-visited and best-loved for golf. Opened in the year 2000 - comprising nine brand new holes and a refurbished inward half which had previously formed part of the original 27-hole Laguna Golf Course - this is a more open course that its neighbours, although holes 3-7 wind between pine trees.
For many, this stretch bears a resemblance to fairways of The Old Course Golf Club and Pinhal Golf Course, where landing areas grow narrower, requiring greater accuracy. Millennium Golf Course
It is a good golf course to have a round with friends. In Vilamoura you have plenty to choose, but this course is simple and not very challenging compare to Old Course for example. Greens are ok but not extremely fast. Layout is just ok for fun. I see this course good for groups staying at the hotels nearby to have their first day of competition, starting smooth..
Good greens. Bunkers are ok. Good change of play style if you have been in the other Dom Pedro courses before. Not as tough as the others but still a good challenge for the average golfer and some tight tee shots give the low handicappers a second thought about the line they want to take aswell.
