We visited Santana during our visit i Mijas and we liked it very much. This would be my summary: Course: The course really sets itself apart from other courses in the area here, it is not playing very far but it can definitely challenge you if you are in the wrong place. The course offers playable waste areas and for me who averages around 250 (meters) with my driver i enjoyed not having to hit driver off every tee and still have a short iron in. Santana is very well maintained and offers some quite nice views. For me i´d say that hole 10 is the "signature hole", a par 5 that slopes down and is very easily reachable in 2 if you strike your driver in the right place off the tee. 10 is followed by a short par 4 were i was actually able to drive the green during our second visit at Santana. Overall we were very happy about the course and would rate it as the most enjoyable course of our visit. Clubhouse: The clubhouse is a small cozy building, the pro shop is not something you would brag about but it offers the essentials if you were to had forgotten something. The staff is welcoming and offer very nice service. Restaurant: We really liked the restaurant, my friend especially enjoyed the fantastic lasagna. The staff is very welcoming and talkative. We were uncertain were the bad reviews had come from after our two visits at Santana. Overall: Our overall experience at Santana were very good, we enjoyed two good rounds of golf here and it was actually the only course we visited two times during our stay. If you want to be petty you could remark the price for greenfees might be just a tad too much but for us it was very enjoyable afterall. We would definitely recommend Santana for everyone visiting in the area and we will come back next time we are in the Marbella area.
