Golfers' Choice
Tee times
The Golfers' Choice Rankings were first published in 2013. Back then we only had rankings for the Best Golf Clubs, Best Courses and Best Value for Money in The Netherlands. A lot has happened since then with 15 countries and 8 categories launched this year. One thing has stayed the same, however: we only release official Golfers' Choice Rankings in countries and of categories when they are really reliable. So, we need to have sufficient new reviews of each golf club in a specific country to be able to launch a Golfers' Choice Ranking.
On Leading Courses we make a distinction between Golf Clubs and Golf Courses. When we speak about the Best Golf Clubs, that means the whole picture. So general impression, the golf course, maintenance, hospitality and so on. When talking about the Best Golf Course, we mean the course itself, which obviously also plays a big role in the overall impression of a golf club.
In 2022 there are Golfers’ Choice Rankings in 15 countries, 11 of them in Europe and the other 4 in Africa (2), Asia and South America. Below a list of the winners in the Overall Best 18 Holes Golf Club category is provided. Click the link(s) to see the overall ranking for that specific country and then use the navigation menu on the left to go to the ranking of your choice in that country.
For the first time in history all Golfers’ Choice Categories now also have a title sponsor. These are all brands that have a very strong connection with golf and we’re very proud to have them on board. These sponsors help us to promote the Golfers' Choice Rankings on an even larger scale. For us, it is vital that more golfers start sharing their opinions in even more countries so that we can help even more golfers throughout the world.
The Best 18-holes Golf Club, Best Golf Course and Best Value for Money categories have all been adopted by the Costa del Sol. This popular region in the South of Spain attracts golfers from all over the world. With 70 great golf courses the region is often dubbed the Costa del Golf.
The Most Hospitable Golf Club category is sponsored by our Brand Partner Big Green Egg. The famous green kamado BBQ brand has been making its mark in the world of golf and we’re proud to call them our partner.
The Best 9-holes Golf Club category is sponsored by Golf Ireland. In geographic terms, Northern Ireland is not a huge country. But when it comes to golf, make no mistake: it’s a giant, with 90 clubs – and champions like Rory McIlroy, Darren Clarke and Graeme McDowell to prove it.
Who better to own the Best Maintenance category than our good friends at Pitchfix. Anyone who has ever pressed the button on the Pitchfix switch-blade ball mark repair tool will recognise the satisfying sound and sensation as the tool opens. Pitchfix helps you take good care of the golf course.
Making a hole-in-one (aka an Ace) requires a lot of luck, but also a lot of practice. That is why the Best Facilities category is sponsored by The Ace Challenge. This mobile app will make your golf game even more fun and you even have the chance to win €10,000!
And last, but certainly not least, the Best Golf Courses Par-3 category is presented by Prime Golf Estates. Acknowledging the need for golfers around the world to acquire a suitable property, they decided to establish Prime Golf Estates. The company focuses purely on high-end, exclusive properties at world-class golf courses.
As mentioned before, the Golfers’ Choice Rankings are 100% based on reviews of golfers. That means sponsors do not have any influence on the outcome of the rankings.
