The facilities (or amenities) of a golf club might be one of the most underrated categories in this year's Golfers' Choice Rankings. Sure, the golf course is what it's all about, but what if there isn't any parking space nearby the golf club, no way to practise your putting stroke or the impossibility of having a shower after your round? 

When a golf club has great facilities it will surely make your experience at the club better. Some (high-end) clubs even offer facilities like valet parking, or a bar or fireplace in the changing rooms. But it's not even those fancy facilities that can make (or break) your experience. It's the little things like a good shower, water points on the course and decent driving range balls that you hope to find at the club, but which isn't always a given.

Other facilities that we haven't mentioned before but that do influence golfers' scores for facilities are:

• The presence of a driving range/putting green/chipping area

• Charging poles for electric cars
