SlicingMyWayThroughLife review

Hard Rock Golf Club, formerly known as Playacar Golf Club is Robert von Hagge layout on a flat terrain but there is some nice land movement coming along with it. It is a decent track layed out in the middle of housing and hotel gated community however most of the holes are surounded by thick mayan vegetation.  The course is quite challenging off the tee on many holes so make sure you have enough balls in your bag as everything left or right of the fairway is gone and the fairways are not very wide. If you ask me it is just too tight for a resort course or an average golfer. So unless you are really long and accurate I recommend 3rd (white) or 4th (gold) set of tees for men if you want to enjoy the game. As despite the difficulty there are some nice holes to be played here. The following I liked best: 4th is a dogleg left Par-4 with very good and picturesque green area. 7th is another great dogleg left Par-4, short but with well protected green which is surrounded by large bunker almost all the way around. 9th is another nice Par-4,  short but tricky so keep your driver in the bag on this hole with peninsula green protected by the lake which runs along the right side of the fairway. Par-4 10th is tough cracker, long, narrow and well protected green - good luck as I am not really sure how this hole got handicap/SI 11! 11th is long but nice Par-5, dogleg left, small green protected with lake on the left side. 12th is another good dogleg right Par-4.  13th hole is the best Par-3 on the course for my taste even though all other are quite good and they are all mid length Par-3's. Excellent finish as 18th is excellent risk and reward Par-5 but if you want to reach this well protected green with two you will have to go for the peninsula left of the fairway - both precision and length are required for this option, safe play is down the fairway on the right side. All other Par-5 holes are on the long side and not really reachable in two. The course was in good condition but visually nothing special compared to most other courses in the area, still decent fairways and greens with no major complaints on the maintenance side.  The clubhouse is a bit outdated. Staff at the starters house was a bit on the unfriendly side... The green fee is not cheap but the good thing is the all inclusive green fee rate which includes all the food and baverage on the course and in the clubhouse restaurant during the day. So at the end of the day it can be a good bargain after all. That said this place is ideal for a group of hungry and thirsty guys looking for some extra fun on the course.  .
