Stayed at the hotel behind the club an looked out of the window and spotted the course behind the cricket pitch. I walked around the block and up to the main building and within minutes had rented clubs, bought some balls and a glove and hired a caddie. What a find. leuk baantje. voor tanzaniaanse begrippen goed onderhouden, heeft een hoog " moet je een keer meegemaakt hebben" gehalte. altijd warm en soms ook nog veel stank. vaak met veel plezier gespeeld

Like Charlie said, the Gymkhana Club is a fine example of how people of all nationalities can socialise together regardless of their race! One of the best clubs I have every played - not because of the course but the people. How ya doing Charlie.

I was the club secretary here from 1989-1991. It was a wonderful experience and the golf was always challenging but enjoyable. A marvelous example at the time of racial integration as every 3ball was made up of an African, Asian and European and the committee was equally divided into the 3 ethnic groups. Voor Tanzania goed onderhouden golfbaan, met aantal erg mooie greens. Greens zijn wel langzaam en niet regelmatig. Caddy's zijn te huur voor minimaal 5.000 shilling en helpen je erg goed! Let er alleen op dat de ongevraagde ballen jongen net zoveel betaald wil hebben. Golfclubs te huur voor 15.000 shilling, redelijk ok. Holes bijna allemaal rechtuit met brede fairways. We… Meer
