Bushman Sands Golf Course

Set quite magnificently along the banks of the Bushmans and New Years rivers in the heart of Bushman’s Gorge in South Africa’s Eastern Cape is the Bushman Sands Golf Course. Designed by golfing legend Gary Player, Bushman Sands has been designed to resemble the game”s earliest links style courses in Scotland. 1.2km separate the various tee options available, which range from Championship to Ladies, and therefore opens up the course to all levels of golfer. Bushman’s has been designed to accommodate, and to provide, an incredibly enjoyable golfing experience to all golfers. Some of the standout features at Bushman’s include teeing off your game over a railway line, and the final drive which takes you, hauntingly, over a graveyard and not to forget the multiple crossings over both the Bushmans and New Years rivers. The signature 14th has been designed to punish any lapse in accuracy. Good club selection is a must and the green is well bunkered. Making the par 3 is considered an excellent job and anyone “birdie-ing” has just inherited some worthy bragging rights. The par-5 16th hole is considered one of the longest holes on any South African golf course at 589m so the idea is not to launch your tee shot into the New Years River, which runs alongside the fairway!! Facilities at Bushman Sands Golf Club include golf carts for hire, caddies/spotters, a Halfway House (on request), well stocked Pro-Shop, Locker rooms including showers and the Bunkers restaurant and Pub.Meer
