We played the front nine of Quinta do Vale on a beautiful day in January. The clubhouse is beautifully located on the highest point of the property with great views over the the course. Designed by Seve Ballesteros with the characteristic 6 par 3’s,6 par 4’s and 6 par 5’s it’s wise to pick the right tee. Especially the first hole is one you should start without warming … Meer

Quinta do Vale has had a rough start and some difficult years. But, they have definitely found the way up. I’ve played here three times, and the course has improved every time. I’m not a big fan of the first hole (sorry Seve) - too difficult for a starting hole - but the course gets easier as you go. Have played here a few times and always enjoyed the challenge. The course is well-maintained and varied. Half the course is on the flat but played around rivers and lakes. The other half is in the hilly countryside with different challenges. Only negative is the backdrop of halfbuilt concrete villas on one hillside. Clubhouse is delightful and they are very friendly. Played here at the end of last year before Xmas. Very welcoming and helpful staff specially since it was only my second time playing there, and my first time being so long ago i completely forgot how incredible and hard the course can be for newcomers. Beautiful golf and challenging especially on the the first 9 lots of water. Perfect fairways and very nice greens Bunkers are a little hard sand packed staff is great. All the construction of the houses have stopped.

This course is a good option for a golf round in which you do not want to spend a lot of money, since you will enjoy a golf course in great shape. On the other hand, in my opinión, it is not the best design at least for low handicaps or medium/long hiters, since several holes are very strange to play for those type of players. Impressive work by maintenance staff to recover this seve ballesteros gem. Great definition from tee to green, fast greens, great landscape. Its a must playat the Algarve, completely a hidden and fantastic course!

Underrated course. Great view of the course and Portugal Spain border bridge from the clubhouse. Greens were pretty good. If you catch the course on a windy day it will be a strong challenge. Friendly staff and decent price for a round.

The first nine was rather well to do with your trolley. The second nine was a little more 'up and down'. We did the second nine by golfcart. Afterwords we were glad that we did so.

Lovely but for me very difficult course.

First nine are relatively flat with a lot of waterhazards. For the second nine you do need a buggy. A very well maintained golf course, rather difficult for higher handicappers.

Great course design! The over all shape of the course could be a little better, but we played in the Winter season, so more than o.k.

I played this course last year and walked off after 9 holes. Returned to give it another chance after Mário said it had improved immensely. He wasn’t wrong. In great condition and you can see the improvements already made and the ongoing work. Highly commended. Great SEVE design. Classic 6,6,6 and no weak holes. Seve Ballesteros’s design. The club house is set on a beautiful hill with stunning views from the terrace, that overlooks the golf course, some other hills, the ocean and some little Spanish towns from the other side of the bridge.
