Visited from Portugal and weather was not the best, so less sunshine might have coloured the review. Good car parking, but unfinished hotel nearby is discouraging. Course condition of fairways was not great. Friendly people there. Some challenging holes, but first 9 better than last 9.

This course used to have a different name and owner and after years of not being in operation Isla Canela (Old Course) saw the potential of this course. Next to the really nice and cosy clubhouse you see the remnants of the difficult period this area went through. An unfinished hotel structure reminds you of this. It was a very pleasant surprise to play this course for the first time. Challenging enough to push for your game, with some great Bermuda greens. somehow surrounded by the Guadiana river, gives you some nice views. Very friendly staff, and overall course was in great conditions. Will return for sure.

Today I played the links look-a-like course of Isla Canela. It is not one of the best known courses. They recently added it to the Isla Canela and are improving the course. And the quality is very good. If you are into link courses and nice weather, than this is your thing. It can be easily walked as it is very flat, being in the estuary of the river Guadiana.

Under Isla Canela management, Valle Guadiana Links golf course has been improving since day 1. The course is in better shape and I recommend it for all the handicap range. Very nice course and great value for money. The second nine are the most beautiful holes in the region. Fairways in good condition and the greens are excellent.

As a links lover, this is a good option for me as I’m in Spain, is a good design in a marshland that difficults some holes You have to take care about your mobiles because some holes you have to pay roaming because you have Portuguese signal Incredible food at the restaurant is managed by Gonzalo same as Isla Canela.

Course in pretty better conditions than it was a year ago. Very good work done during the course closure due to pandemic, lots of side areas have been cleaned, fairway got new grass seeds and greens have settled very nicely, altough still need some more time to be at their best. A real pleasure being able to play it again!

Due to the pandemic, the course was shut for nearly 7 months. But always well taken care of during the process, from the very professional maintenance and greenkeepers team. Some bushes n trees were removed on a few holes, because they were blocking the player`s point of view towards the fairway from the teeshots and others for the better visibility of the greens. Valle Guadiana Links course offers the best of both golfing worlds. The front nine holes are set in parkland with every hole being unique and brining its own challenge. There are trees and water to be negotiated but the fairways are generous and rewarding for good play. Great Course! Fabulous green! Clubhouse excellent with food very high quality! 9 holes parklands with trees and water... 9 holes links along the river - challenging in windy conditions. The fairways desperately need rain, a bit of maintenance to replace the links weeds but by next Spring this could be a top class course for leisure and competition golf.

This course has come on leaps and bounds since being taken over by Isla Canela. There are some excellent and challenging holes to play with views across the River to Portugal as a spectacular backdrop. Played here few days ago mid afternoon with a bit of wind. Greens are hard to land on but perfect to putt on. You will need pro Vs for some spin. Bunkers are what bunkers are supposed to be. I played at Valle Guadiana Golf Course a very easy going golf round, basically because the course is not very hard (but has enough challenges), it is very varied, and has a classical design with tee boxes right by the previous green. We have really enjoyed to play on this course. Those holes beside the Guadiana are superb. Not too difficult despite the wind. Very nice, I would always try to come back. Isla Canela it’s much more demanding for a 18 hcp. like me, p.

Course (Costa Esury) was taken from a bad shape and bad reputation to a fresh face by Isla Canela and what a change. Bermuda greens and the fairways are getting better and better. Bunkers are ok with sand. Trolley or buggy is recommended. In the near future it will be a good course to have bigger competitions.

Until recently this was a poor course with lots of negative reviews. The course now has a new owner and has changed its name to Valle Guadiana. The maintenance of rhe course has been improved dramarically. It is now a beatiful walkable links course at a standard green fee of 30 euro. Highly recommandable.

A course well suited for the long hitters on back 9 holes, as for the front 9, the accurate strikers will definetly have the advantage on them. Great views all round and is sitting alongside the river Guadiana. It has the traits of a links course while also having some holes with beautiful lakes and hazards surrounding them.
