Over Portstewart Golf Club
Founded in 1894 and redesigned by Willie Park jnr in the 1920’s this championship links course received its greatest makeover with the purchase of land known as “Thistly Hollow” in 1986. This enabled the club to build a stunning new seven holes through towering dunes and fabulous and natural links land. Designed by Des Giffin the Strand Course is the jewel in the Portstewart portfolio.

The Old Course is where it all began in 1894 at Portstewart! The front 8 holes of The Old Course are perched along the rocky shore, east of Portstewart town on the Portmore Road heading to Portrush with the back 10 on the landward side.

The Strand golfcourse is the best links golfcourse I have ever played. fantastic setting in the massive dunes. great views. a must play. Even better than the famous Royal Portrush.

The Strand
Wat een baan. De vergezichten en omgeving is ongelooflijk mooi. Zeker de eerste 9-holes zijn prachtig met torenhoge duinen, glooiende greens en moeilijke drives. Het is linksbaan dus je moet rekening houden met harde fairways en greens. Maar korte ijzers houden wel.
