A very good test of your golfing abilities, long in places and in excellent condition, drains well in wetter weather. A lovely place to play if you're in the area between Reading and Oxford.

Mathern is very much a junior partner, made up mainly short par 4 and very small greens to hone your game Old Course is super. Favourite holes are 5th / 15th / 9th favourite par 3/4/5s. The 10th,15th and 17th play down to a stunning lake and the unmistakeable 18th a 210 yard smash over it uphill!

Derby: an excellent course that needs a good touch: have your wits about you! PGA: an inland links style, some good holes but a little bland for me! Brabazon: could play this course over and over and over and not get bored. par 5 3rd and 18th, par 4 9th and 10th were it stand out holes for me: it builds to a crescendo of a solid but negotiable par 5 17th to the neast th… Meer

Wow! This golf course is dramatic and needs a buggy to be enjoyed fully. That is really the only thing is if it could be made a little more "walkable". Also, some holes could have a little more generous amount of yardage: to hit 150/160 yards from the Yellow tees to clear all danger is quite hard for some in our group!

A very fair and classic "Tour" venue. Lots of variety, superb location and practice facilties.

This place oozes class and history, the par 4 oth and par 5 10th the pick of the holes for me! Have your wits about you, plays so fast you must be straight or else!

Amazing practice facilities, different sands (to reflect global differences!) in different bunkers Tour course: very playable, long but rewarding if you are straight Stadium course: quite simply sumptuous, only back 9 played as there was work on the front 9. Risk and reward aplenty, some beautiful holes. 11th/13th/15th favourite par 3/4/5.

The fact that its neighbour Faldo is a sensational 18 holes, this course could be seem as a "poorer neighbour" but is nonetheless in its own right a superb layout and testing holes with ditches and water aplenty. More "playable" for anyone with handicap 18 or over in comparison with its neighbour!

Woodland: stunning vista, mega tight fantastic loop. Parkland: the poorer neighbour of the three which is a little more bland Lakeland: have your wits about you. Went on "Tour" here 3 times and I must say a GREAT venue!

Very interesting parkland golf course, my favourite hole was the very long par 5 down into the dip. Would definitely play again.

You really can't complain: the must famous of them all! Have your wits about you: I have never seen balls roll and roll and roll, on the fairways not to mention the greens. Hallowed turf that plays short if you hit it straight!
