Golf in Finland

During summertime it stays light for quite some time in Finland; that's one of the reasons why a lot of people play a game of golf after work. Sometimes people play until after midnight. Certainly further to the north there is plenty of daylight during the summers. Playing a round of golf in Finland under the midnight sun is an unprecedented experience. The Finnish golf season lasts from May to September and often even a bit longer. During the summer temperatures usually lie around 20-25 degrees Celsius during the day. A great temperature for playing golf. In the south of Finland the summer sun shines 21 hours a day, with a few hours of twilight after sunset. That means you can play golf for almost 24 hours a day. This also means that the golf courses are not busy, because the number of players can be spread over almost 24 hours. There are dozens of tournaments every summer. The Midnight Golf Tournaments usually start or end at midnight. Playing in the late evening and night in 'normal daylight' is unique and you have to experience it once.
