Golf in Highland
Fortrose & Rosemarkie Golf Club - founded in 1793 - is the oldest golf club in Highland and is confirmed to be the 15th oldest golf club in the world. Highland is home to many well-known golf clubs and is definitely worth the trip when planning a golf break. Green fee prices are still acceptable and the courses and views are just outstanding. When planning a golf break to Highland in Scotland, make sure to play the following Highland golf courses: Castle Stuart (a relatively new golf club, founded in 2009), Royal Dornoch Golf Club (both courses are great), Brora Golf Club and Nairn Golf Club. But, this area has many hidden gems, which you definitely should pay a visit like Tain Golf Club, Fortrose & Rosemarkie Golf Club and Durness Golf Club. The area above Inverness - around the village of Dornoch - would make a perfect location to stay. But, Inverness itself would also be a great starting point. If you love links golf, tranquillity and history then this is the place to go. A holiday to the Highland area will bring you fantastic golf courses, majestic mountains, mysterious lochs and you might be able to witness dolphins frolicking off the Moray Coast. If you like hiking, then head out to Britain's highest peak, Ben Nevis. Highland can be reached via the international airport of Glasgow and Edinburgh. But, Inverness also has an international airport. Inverness Airport is located some 7 miles east of Inverness and 21 miles from Loch Ness. Inverness Airport offers a range of daily flights to and from a number of key destinations including; London (Heathrow, Gatwick & Luton), Amsterdam (Schiphol), Bristol, Manchester, Birmingham, Dublin, and Belfast.

18th green is the only handmade green. The course is fully natural. The condition of the course is excellent and the greens are on point. Not that long of a course. The length is 6.200 yards long. Tom Watson said: “the back nine beated me up”. Which only means that it can be a really challenging course depending on weather conditions. Beautiful design by James Braid,…

Werkel…
