Inspiration

Golf in SwitzerlandMost golf courses in Switzerland are easy to reach by car and public transport. A nice benefit of playing in Switserland is the fact that you are able to hit the ball much further than normal, due to the thin air in the mountains. Golfing in Switzerland is truly an adventure, you walk on narrow paths and alpine meadows. But you also have a good chance of spotting deer or other wildlife.

Golf Ascona
Very nice parkland golf course on the shores of lake Maggiore with proper "old school" layout where every club in the bag comes in play.H.S. Colt and C.H. Alison designed the first nine holes while later C.K. Cotton added the second nine holes. Holes 4,5,6,8,15 and 16 were my favorite and if you ask me, hole number 8 is one of the most beautiful parkland par 4's on the co…

Beautiful Robert Trent Jones Sr. layout with very diverse holes, my favorites are no. 2,6,16,17 and 18. The course was in top playing condition, greens were very good and the fairways were great even though it was raining heavily for 1 day prior to my round. If my info is co…

Golf Club de Sierre
This is a nice golf course and surprisingly very flat, so a buggy is not necessary. The golf course is not very long, but a lot of fairways are pretty narrow and there are a lot of doglegs. So long hitters don't need a driver very much. It's a technical course, so you really have to think about your strategy and choices of your clubs. The maintenance is very good, a big c…

Golfclub Gstaad
GC Gstaad is just great mountain golf course which was designed by Peter Harradine in 1962. This beautiful and quite unique layout has some very nice holes and offers some spectacular views as the course lies 1400 meters above the sea. Unlike many mountain courses this one seemed very fair to me. There are some tricky and technical holes but the layout is as already ment…
