Golf in Cheshire
When visiting Cheshire for golf, then inland golf courses like Delamere Forest Golf Club, Wallasey Golf Club and Sandiway Golf Club can't be missed. But, the top golf club in Cheshire is without a doubt the Royal Liverpool Golf Club at Hoylake. The links course of the Royal Liverpool Golf Club is well-known throughout the world and has hosted many tournaments and is on the rota for The Open in 2023. If you are planning a golftrip to Cheshire and you want to stay at a golf resort, then head to Carden Park Hotel, Golf Resort and Spa or The Mere Golf Resort & Spa. Most golf courses in Cheshire of interest can be found just south of Liverpool along the coast or more inland just south of Manchester. When in Chester, don't forget to pay a visit to the Chester Racecourse, which is officially recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records as the oldest racecourse in the world, still in operation. It was founded in 1539 and Cheshire is known for its horse races.

Wallasey Golf Club
Founded in 1891 by members from nearby Hoylake, with an initial layout from Old Tom Morris Bobby Jones played his qualifying round at Wallasey for the 1930 Open at Royal Liverpool. Wallasey must have had a lasting effect on Bobby Jones too, as he sat for a portrait painted by one of the members. This portrait ‘Bobby’ still hangs proudly in the lounge to this day. A…

Hartford Golf Club
This is not a long course but it presents challenges and a good variety of holes. The course has a mixture of trees, bunkers, terrain and one or two ponds to give protection. There are elevation changes and a nice mixture of narrow fairways and open ones. Off the yellow tees there are not too many driving holes, only really 1 and 8 (a dogleg); 3 is long enough but really …

Chorlton-Cum-Hardy Golf Club
Have worked in Manchester a few times and played some courses in the area. Chorlton-Cun-Hardy has had good reviews, so was interested to see and play it myself. Wasn't disappointed. The course is excellent, with some good challenging holes. Not many holes to just pull the driver and smash it, a thinking man's course that challenges you to use all the clubs in your bag. Th…

New design on the 15th looks amazing! Lovely open view and played like a links, fast, bouncy and a real challenge. The greens were a pleasure to putt on, great pace and silky smooth! If anyone is in…
