Golf in Scotland
The Old Course at St Andrews in Fife is considered the oldest golf course in the world and known throughout the world as 'The Home of Golf'. That name was given to St Andrews because the sport was first played on the Links course at St Andrews as early as the start of the 15th century! Scotland is the perfect golf destination when planning your next golf break. In Scotland you will find a huge selection of highly rated Scottish golf courses just waiting to inspire and challenge both novice and expert alike - all set against a backdrop of some of the most captivating scenery in the world. Most Scottish golf courses are open year round so there’s no one season to visit Scotland. The fairways and greens remain in good condition throughout the year, allowing visitors to enjoy their golf even though they may have a layer or two of extra clothing on. When visiting Scotland for golf, make sure to visit the following Scottish golf courses: St Andrews Links - the Old Course is the one to play, but there are 6 other good courses to choose from, Trump Turnberry Resort, Royal Dornoch Golf Club, Muirfield, Kingsbarns Golf Links, Castle Stuart Golf Links and Trump International Golf Links. But the list actually goes on and on. There are just so many really good and famous golf courses to be found in Scotland. Loch Lomond GC - consistently in the top of our rankings - is a private course, so you need an introduction from a member to play here. Aside from golf, Scotland has much more to offer. Scotland provides untouched nature, majestic landscapes, grand castles and historic cities. And if you are into malt whisky, then one of the numerous whisky trails is definitely a great idea. The following Scottish highlights shouldn't be missed: Edinburgh Castle, Loch Lomond and the mystical Loch Ness, the magical Isle of Skye & the Cuillin Mountains. Scotland's international airports - Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Glasgow Prestwick and Inverness - are all served by flights from a growing number of European and long haul destinations. Many European airport hubs also provide fantastic onward connections to Scotland, including airports in London, Amsterdam, Paris, Madrid, Reykjavik and Frankfurt.

What to say: playing the Old Course is "the experience" for every golfer. And to do so, it is worth waking up at 3.30 a.m. and standing in line from 4.00 a.m.! Finally teed off at 6.30 a.m. with my caddy carrying the bag. What a day... can't wait to go back. Course is probably not the most difficult with no wind, but who cares!

Julien, j’ai un tee time au Old Course dans 5 jours... peux tu venir? Quelle question merveilleuse.
