Om Plettenberg Bay Country Club
Plettenberg Bay Country Club has an 18 hole parklands golf course set in a private nature reserve. The highly rated course is a very popular tourist destination. The course is easy to walk, and the 2 main inclines can be observed from the veranda. Visitors are welcome. Lush Kikuyu grass fairways and bayview greens recently over seeded to bent grass provides golfers with an excellent playing surface on this park like golf course. Despite intense competition from the beautiful white beaches and rolling surf, the club is busy and booking is essential.

Parcours bien aménagé
Attention aux rough dense et pas facile à dompter
Il y a malgré tout un entretien général à améliorer concernant le gazon et sa régularité de hauteur de coupe.

Again back in the west-Cape and on nice course in Plettenberg Bay. Of course it is in an area where we have been in the past and the course is still nice to play. It is hilly going down in hole 1 and 10 and up 9 and 18. The course can be walked with your trolley but a buggy is available. The reception and parking is no problem and helpful. The course well maintained nice greens but also water and bunkers to make it more interesting. As usual we enjoyed the round and the service and views after the round.

Plett CC is a traditional members' club, situated in a designated a nature reserve inland from the sea. Whilst the views are less spectacular than on many Garden Route courses, the course could be described as a hidden gem. Other than the 1st,9th,10th and 18th holes, which take you down and then back up, it is situated in a valley and meanders amongst mature trees, wetlands and stream. A look at the course planner suggests water is potentially in play on all 18 holes. In reality, it isn't! It only impacts play on 3 or 4 holes.
The course isn't long - about 6,600 yards off the back tees and is playable by all handicap levels. It was in excellent condition on our visit - perfect fairway lies and fast, true greens. No excuses! We took caddies, who were a cut above the usual misdescribed bag carriers. Great with lines off the tees, green reads and clubbing. Fantastic value too. The green fee is £35 and recommended caddie fee £16 (we gave ours a lot more!)
Whilst not one of the "big names" of Garden Route golf, I'd thoroughly recommend Plett CC. Great value, excellent condition and a warm welcome. What's not to like?

Plettenberg GC is the member golfclub in Plettenberg Bay. The course has quite some height difference and a Golf car is recommended. The clubhouse is located on the highest point and hole 1 and 10 go down and 9 and 18 go up and could be watched from the terrace. Maintenance is fine and greens good speed and large.
Interesting round when visiting the Western Cape.

I think this is a pretty underrated course, it’s not one of the pristine ones in the area but has a lot of character and interesting holes. The course is set in a valley with the clubhouse up on a hill. The 1st and 10th holes you work your way downhill and then return on the 9th and 18th. The most interesting part of the course in my opinion is from the 11th where you start to work in and through a foresty area with one of the coolest tee boxes you’re likely to see. The 14th tee is cut back into the forest and you tee off in what feels like a rainforest.
The course is pretty reasonably priced and looks like it has a pretty good community. I played there on Sunday and there were loads of locals enjoying a few beers on the terrace which overlooks the holes going down the hill.
The pro shop was great, loads of stuff in there. Only downside was there is no driving range but there is a net and a decent size chipping/putting green.
I’d definitely recommend stopping here if you’re in the area.
