Singapore Island Country Club (Island)

I played two the Forest & Millennium Loops of the New Course at Singapore Island Country Club (SICC) in the summer of 2026, and had a very enjoyable experience. We were fortunate to be invited by a very welcoming member who showed us around the course and gave us some excellent local tips. The arrival at SICC is impressive. The clubhouse facilities are substantial, with a large, almost parking-garage-like bag-drop area where the buggies are lined up and ready for the two 18-hole courses. SICC also has a second location with two further 18-hole courses. The Forest course has also hosted the Singapore Open on several occasions. There are some nice touches around the clubhouse and course, including a beautiful, authentic Rolex clock on the putting green. From the clubhouse terrace, there are excellent views across the holes, with the dense jungle vegetation providing a distinctly Singaporean backdrop. The course itself is very playable and enjoyable. There are a few blind shots that add some challenge, and accuracy is important because anything that disappears into the jungle is unlikely to be found. The maintenance was excellent throughout, and the back nine in particular has several beautiful holes with great views. Many of the tees are elevated, allowing you to play down into the course and giving you a wonderful feeling of space and freedom when you stand over the ball. The finishing hole is a particularly memorable one. With the clubhouse in front of you, the 18th runs down and then back up towards an elevated green, with a small creek adding another element of interest around the green. The staff were exceptionally friendly, the food afterwards was very good, and the locker rooms were in excellent condition. The service was also very attentive, including the traditional service of having a staff member provide your towel. (Don't forget to tip him) Overall, Forest Millennium is a very enjoyable and well-maintained golf experience, combining playable golf with the distinctive tropical setting of Singapore. A welcoming club, excellent service, and some memorable holes make it well worth experiencing.

Eine doppelgeschossige Driving Range und vielfältige Übungsanlagen für das kurze Spiel und Putten. Über allem ragt ein hochmodernes, luxuriöses Clubhaus der Superlative! Der Members only Club hat sehr strikte Zutrittsregeln, auch für Gäste der Mitglieder selbst (niemals an Samstagen). Hat man aber die Chance auf eine 18 Loch Runde (9 Loch Runden sind ebenso limitiert), erlebt der Spieler Weltklasse Niveau. Sowohl die hügelige Topographie als auch das Platzdesign sind fordernd, das tropische Klima untersagt laufen. Obgleich der Weg insbesondere durch den Regenwald der „Forrest“ Runde ein Traum ist. Die „Peirce“ Runde führt am Peirce Wasser Reservoir entlang und öffnet traumhafte Ausblicke über Wald, Wasserflächen und anteilig die Skyline der Stadt. Zusammen mit der „Millenium“ Runde zeichnen diese beiden Schleifen den höchsten spielerischen Anspruch ab, über 6600m. 4 mögliche Abschläge eröffnen aber jeder Spielklasse gute Chancen. Sehr gut ausgeschildert, bestens einsehbar und unterstützt von einer übersichtlichen Scorecard mit Zeichnungen finden auch neue Spieler in dieser unglaublich großen Anlage ihren Weg. Das Clubhaus bietet vor und nach der Runde alle Formen der Erholung; Schwimmen, saunieren, Dampfbad, Gesundheitsanwendungen und nicht zu guter Letzt ein hervorragendes Restaurant mit asiatischer wie auch europäischem Anteil. Bester Service in allen Bereichen runden das Bild einer Weltklasse Anlage ab.
