Coccaro Golf Club

Coccaro Golf Club is een 9 holes par3 baan als onderdeel van een hotel. Het ontvangst is wisselend, het hotel is stug en de pro uiterst vriendelijk en heeft het over een executive baan. Het is even schrikken als ik de prijs hoor van de 9 holes par 3 baan…. €55,00 voor 9 holes. Er is een klein hokje voor de pro en heeft een paar ballen en handschoenen in zijn assortiment. De drivingrange staat vol mooie olijfbomen en de ballen zijn inclusief.

De teeboxen zien er matig uit en sommige zijn niet breder dan 2 meter. Met de greens is het helaas ook niet best gesteld. Bunkers zijn oké.

Helaas is de baan iets minder vergevingsgezind.

Zelden heb ik zoveel geld uitgegeven aan zo weinig golf. De prijs kwaliteit verhouding is ver te zoeken. De lay-out van de baan is positief.

9 holes par 3. Vereist veel techniek. Heel smal en soms vlak achter tee box olijfbomen bijvoorbeeld. Heeft weinig met golf te maken. Eigenlijk is het een uitgebreide oefenfaciliteit meer niet. Was best prijzig eigenlijk voor wat je kreeg. Was 75€ voor 2 incl 1 trolley.

I just love this place! This is a short par-3 golf course so don't expect par 4's and par 5's here. But the holes... as good as it gets on a par-3 golf course. The layout is great with some elevation changes and with Adriatic sea in the distance and some holes are just amazing. Even though it will take you just an hour to get around I could play it for hours... But don't underestimate this little beauty as you will need to show all you short game skills and iron precision to score well here. Holes no. 2,5 and 8 are seriously beautiful while no. 6 and 7 are proper test of mid iron accuracy. There is no real golf clubhouse here "just" masseria Torre Maizza hotel by Rocco Forte on site which is simply amazing again. The restaurant with lovely terrace is great with excellent food and lovely view of the pool below where you can also relax between the rounds and have a drink or snack by the pool. They have the tiniest possible pro-shop on the planet which measures just around 4 square meters (seriously) but it is probably the sexiest pro-shop I have ever seen. :)

A must play if you are in the area.

Nice par 3 course. After a warm welcome, I received a bag of clubs and some balls. The clubs were ok (callaway warbirds), but that didn't spoil the fun.

Hitting balls on a driving range full of olive trees was special and a lot of fun. I even could hit off the grass instead of a standard driving range mat.

The holes were nicely designed. The terrain is a bit undulated, but not that much. Every par 3 is different. Some are over water and some are elevated greens surrounded by steep rocks.

The course is full of olive trees, lots of flowers, cacti and big rocks. This gives a nice and 'Puglinese' look to it. Especially the 7th hole with two rows of olive trees at the sides is special.

The greens were fast and soft. So a ball with enough spin could grasp the green.

One point of improvement: the greens/fringes were surrounded by a thick high grass. If your ball was on the fringe, but ended up against the edge of this grass, you can't hit the ball. The thick edge of grass obstructs any stroke.

I had a lot of fun here and recommend this small course to everyone who wants some golf fun in puglia, but doesn't want to pay the full price of a championship course.

Zelden zoveel plezier gehad op een Par 3 baan. Zeer verzorgde baan te midden van de olijvenbomen met uitdagende holes waarbij alle techniek uit de kast moet. Ondanks beperkte omvang van de baan mooi gebruik gemaakt van omgeving, water en hoogteverschil. Lengte van holes verschilt tussen 90 en 150 meter.

Voor 25 euro is deze baan zeker de moeite waard te bezoeken. Oefenfaciliteiten zijn erg goed met mooie driving range (2 euro voor 25 ballen), pitching en putting green. Bunkers zouden nog iets beter verzorgd kunnen worden, maar de baan ligt er fantastisch bij. Zeer vriendelijke ontvangst bij zowel receptie en caddymaster. Op doordeweekse dagen is reserveren niet nodig en is de baan zeer rustig. Bar en restaurant zijn onderdeel van het hotel en zien er verzorgd uit. Prijzen iets aan hoge kant.
