West Cliffs

Je ne l avais pas jouer depuis quelques années. Le parcours a souffert de la sécheresse. Beaucoup de plantes ont brûlées. Le parcours est moins joli. Il n'y a plus de bruyeres. Beaucoup de constructions entourent les fairways. Le paysage est moins beau. Il faut savoir jouer des bons departs pour pouvoir depasser les obstacles, surtout un jour de grand vent Les greens sont excellents .

Superbe links au dessin particulièrement intéressant, West Cliffs peut se montrer difficile avec le vent, les roughs et les greens rapides et pleins de pentes. La lande et l'océan font des paysages magnifiques tout au long du parcours. Le vaste club house dominant le parcours et la mer se montre enfin accueillant. J'ai fait ce parcours à l'ouverture il y a 9 ans, je suis vraiment très content de l'avoir refait même si l'urbanisation commence à envahir certaines parties du parcours. A faire impérativement!

What a course! It just goes to show once again why I love ‘links courses’ so much. It certainly wasn’t plain sailing – I had to work pretty hard for my points and the result was a bit meagre, but I enjoyed every minute of it! The front nine were perhaps a bit trickier, with a ‘nice but sneaky nine’ at the end, but I thought the back nine were amazing because of the views we were treated to. It’s a shame this course isn’t a bit further south, because then we’d play it very regularly! I’m not sure if I’d always walk it, as with the heat I found it quite an extra workout at some points, but I simply prefer to walk. That said, I do understand why many people opt for a buggy. Clean restrooms throughout the course, water points well organised, and the buggy bar provided us with deliciously cold water and so on. Hole 18 is a wonderful finale 😊 and afterwards, at hole 19, there were very friendly people and tasty food. Definitely highly recommended.

A spectacular setting with beautiful views, but I found the course a little too penal in places. There are several blind shots and some long carries, so it can be difficult when playing it for the first time. The greens were firm and not very receptive, and the overall condition was slightly below what I expected from such a highly ranked course. Still an enjoyable experience, but not quite as impressive as its reputation suggests.

Parcours difficile mais exceptionnel. Très bien entretenu. Personnel accueillant. Sportif, voiturette recommandée.
