Last August I played the 18 holes of the Jack Nicklaus II course. Some Italian golfers told me the 9 holes course, designed by Gary Player, is among the best 9 holes courses in Italy. And indeed what a pleasure to play this course, even in January. Very nice design, great bunkers and greens. A lot of variety and most important at this course are the first shots (for the long hitters), you have to make decisions. Just go for it or a more defensive strategy. The last choice is probably ok for your 1st shot, but your 2nd is going to be a (big) challenge. I like such designs. The maintenance is very good, the fairways were even mowed now! The greens are very good. I really like holes 1,2,5,6 & 8. Only hole 9 has a strange design. A PAR 3 with a green that runs off very strong and unnaturally. If the greens are fast & firm then it must be hardly impossible to hold the ball on the green with your 1st shot. Like the 1st time I really like the atmosphere at this golfclub and also the hospitality of the staff. For example the caddiemaster is a very kind person with some nice stories. So highly recommended to spend a day!
