Royal Óbidos Golf CourseThe course itself is certainly challenging enough for everyone – plenty of water, doglegs and so on – which means your course management skills will be put to the test here and there. It’s great that there are two strategically placed toilets, giving you four opportunities to visit them. Contrary to what I’d been told on two occasions, the buggy bar was nowhere to be seen. But luckily there were two water holes. The driving range isn’t much to shout about, but you can do what you need to do: practise. In short: a great course, certainly worth a second visit so you know what to expect; I found the facilities a bit sparse, though.

Royal Óbidos Golf CourseProper championship course with plenty of challenging shots. Fairly wide off the tee and the par 3’s are fairly short (from yellow). Condition of fairways and greens excellent. Friendly staff and good food.
Royal Óbidos Golf CourseEr heeft een positieve verandering plaatsgevonden bij de receptie. Zeer vriendelijk ontvangst en zeer behulpzaam. Baan in zeer goede conditie. Splinternieuwe buggies!

Royal Óbidos Golf Course
18 hålBanan är cirka 7 300 meter lång från de bakre tees och är ett riktigt test för spelare på alla nivåer. Det första hålet, en generös högerdogg, går norrut och ger en spektakulär kombination av hål med utsikt över lagunen (Lagoa de Óbidos). Det viktigaste hålet på de nio första hålen är det tredje, ett 144 meter långt par 3 från de gula tees till en ö-green, med den fantastiska Óbidos-lagunen i bakgrunden. De andra nio hålen har utsikt över Atlanten. Sex av hålen slingrar sig mellan ett intrikat ekosystem av sjöar som är sammankopplade med kaskadbäckar. Höjdpunkten på de bakre nio hålen är det 18:e, ett 490 meter långt par 5 från de gula tees, med en panoramautsikt över de bakre nio hålen, klubbhuset och havet bortom.
