Essex

When visiting Essex for golf, the following Essex golf clubs should be on your list: Thordon Park Golf Club, Orsett Golf Club, Chelmsford Golf Club and Romford Golf Club. James Braid - a well-known golf architect - became a pro at Romford Golf Club in 1896 and he is responsible for the designs of many lovely Essex golf courses. Henry Cotton was also a well known figure in Essex, so his signature can also be found on many Essex golf courses. 

The highest density of golf clubs in Essex can be found just north of London. There are also some interesting links courses along the Essex coast.
