Europa

Today golf in Europe is well established throughout the North and West of Europe and is making steady progress into Central Europe and Southeastern regions. Countries with the highest number of golf facilities are: England, Germany, France, Scotland, Sweden, Ireland, Spain and Italy. 

Based on the density of above-average golf clubs in a certain country (or region), our rating per country suggests that the following countries are well worth a visit when planning your next golfbreak or golf holiday: United Kingdom (incl. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland), Ireland, The Netherlands and Belgium. Most golfers however still flock to popular and sunny golf destinations like Portugal (Algarve), Spain and Turkey. 

Europe

Golf as a sport first took off along the sandy shorelines of Great Britain, particularly along the east coast of Scotland. Since then - due to a rising middle class and better transporation means - golf has spread throughout Europe.

Highland Golf 

Excellent for beginners and intermediate players. Very colse to downtown, therefore you can even play in your lunch break. :) Practice areas are best in Hungary. Significant club membership, therefore booking a tee-time is advisable.

Campo ben tenuto, a pochi minuti di macchina dalla città, immerso in area silenziosa, un po’ ventoso ma biche interessanti con green difficili veloci e pendenze insidiose.

Good practice facilities (a double decker range, practice bunker, chipping green and putting green), all fairly busy on summer weekends. <br />Changing facilities small, but smart. Reception can usually handle English and German as well as Hungarian. Catering and bar are expensive for Hungary, but will not seem expensive to non-Hungarians, and are pleasant.<br />The 9 hole course is on an exposed plateau, with out of bounds on the outer edges of the course effectively a chasm in places. The rough can be fierce, and the small greens mean that it is not difficult to find onesself in it.<br />Golf in Hungary is mostly expensive, and playing 9 holes here is a fair way to keep in touch without breaking the bank.
