Lake Karrinyup is the hilliest of Australia’s championship courses and with its magnificent eucalypts, the kangaroos that freely roam the fairways and the unmistakable look of the bunkers, it is a quintessential Australian golf course and one sure to be enjoyed by all levels of golfer. It’s character is one distinguished by wide fairways and holes that ask for the player to execute a wide variety of tee shots. Those with the skill to shape the ball to fit the hole, to fly it through the ever-present seaside winds and who hit to the best part of the wide fairways from which to approach the flag will earn the rewards and shoot the lowest scores. The greens vary in size depending on the shots players are asked to play into them. The short, downhill par three, 12th hole has a tiny green, one difficult to hit in any reasonable wind whilst the most difficult hole, the uphill par four 6th, has perhaps the biggest green on the course. It is a course that asks players interesting and quite obvious questions. The answering of those questions is what makes Lake Karrinyup an enduringly interesting course to play. Lake Karrinyup Golf CourseMount Lawley CC. Western Australia. 30 minutes from Perth.
This course is the best in the West for a reason. Last year it held the Perth International World Super 6 tournament as well as 4 Australian Men's opens.
It has it all at L. K, great routing, undulation on fairways and on the greens.
Surrounded by beautiful natural Australian bushland and fauna, plenty of kangaroos are seen here day in day out.
Do yourself a favour and make a booking here when in Perth,18 in the morning, lunch,18 in the afternoon to really appreciate it!

Lake Karrinyup Golf CourseLake Karrinyup Country Club is one of the most beautiful golf clubs in Perth. The championship 18 hole course has a testing and hilly design if you want to challenge yourself! It is known for hosting many tour championships and currently hosting the Men's European Tour Super Sixes which has a different tournament format which makes it exciting to see quick games of match play and lots of birdies!
The course itself is tight in some areas, has some tricky doglegs and nice greens. Whenever I'm there, its always in great shape.
Because it's a private club, its a little more difficult to get on but if you ring or email in advance and maybe try and play with a member, it should be fine.
There is also a par 3 course on the side of the range and its awesome to practice on if you're allowed to play!
Overall, a stunning course and highly recommended to play.
