Schöner und gepflegter Parkland Course, eingebettet in den Schlosspark des Schlosses Schönborn. Freundlicher Empfang, gute Driving-Range. Hoher, alter Baumbestand, der allzu direktes Spiel schnell bestraft, aber insgesamt nicht schwer zu spielen. Moderates Wasser. Gute und freundliche Gastronomie. Bonus: An vielen Abschlägen gibt es Trinkwasser.

Beautiful golf course reasonably close to Vienna. Meticulously maintained in a park of a 300 yo castle. Lots of trees - you have to be accurate driving and bring spare golfballs. Fantastic (new again) restaurant and Bistro.

Schloss Schonbron was on my bucket list already for some time. Reason was simple, good ratings on Leadingcourses and also they are part of Leading courses of Austria which guarantee certain quality. Since i was in area close by I decided to stop and play.

I admitted right away for those who does not read anymore. The stories did not lie, this course is very nice and I would say one of the best in Austria, much better for me than famous one close to Wien.

Now to my review and description. Direction to course are easy to find, its close to main road but without big influence from traffic. When entering premises you drive through the valley of old trees and you sense that you going to historical place. Everything there is touch by it.

From parking signs to reception is well marked and you will easily find everything. I made my reservation online through Austria golf and it was very easy.

Checking went quite fast, and it was very professional and pleasant I was informed that course is full and that since I'm alone it might be a bit slow for me, however local members were very nice, but I will mention it later.

Training facilities and driving range are on spot, next to clubhouse. You could have a quick coffee opposite to reception at small cozy cafeteria.

All the buildings are part of the castle so you see historic signs everywhere.

Course has 3 nine loops. A and B are called Park course, they are located in former castle park, C is bit new and out of the Park limits.

I love such a courses with 100 years old trees, which check every shot and will guard the fairways. Its very challenging especially in windy days like I had. Height difference is not big and its visible only on front nine, where first you can experience some uphill and downhill shots. Prepare very accurate game from tees, because from teeboxes you will have many times narrow view, but once its open you will experience wide fairways with juicy but not hard rough next to it. Course will give opportunity for risk and reward shots and if you have length and accuracy do not hesitate to try.

I want to highlight speed of the greens, they were really quite fast but very fair.

What has to be highlighted was also great job by marshal, he was visible and helping the speed of the game. So I have to not thx to flight in front of me who kindly let me through even they do not have to as I been told, so much appreciated.

I did not want to describe holes, because I believe people have to experience this course themselves. I will only mention few I really enjoy and would call them signature its 2,11,17 however other were also nice.

At the end I want to highlight the maintenance, its on very high level at last as I experienced.

So I can only recommend to visit and price/performance ratio to me is about 8/10.

Its a pity I did not have time to check restaurant to satisfy other senses as well, so maybe next time.

Nach einem Jahr wieder gespielt, bei wunderschönen Wetter eine angenehme Runde gespielt. In so einem perfekten Zustand war der Platz noch nie, die Grüns extrem schnell, obwohl ich schnelle Grüns liebe, habe ich lange gebraucht um mich darauf einzustellen. Nicht leicht eine echte Herausforderung. Leider ist das Restaurant zu, Mit einem Restaurant wie früher müsste

man 10 Punkte geben.

Kein Restaurant! Schlechtes Service. Hat nicht einmal ansatzweise die Berechtigung für einen angeblich leading course.
